Liguria in italiano

Liguria experiences and Italian language

Walk, meet, speak: explore the territory through language and everyday life

Liguria in Italiano combines walking, discovering places and practising Italian in everyday life.
Not lessons, but real situations: cafés, small shops and encounters along the way.
An engaging way to experience the region, step by step.

What is Liguria in Italiano

Liguria in Italiano is a slow and responsible tourism experience that brings together walking, the Italian language and meaningful encounters with the local community.

Participants learn the basics of Italian directly on the ground, through walks, short informal language moments and guided interactions with local people. Designed for individual travellers or small groups, the experience values everyday local life and creates a direct, respectful connection with places and people.

How it works

During the experience, we alternate:

  • Urban walks or light hikes
  • Short, contextualised introductions to Italian
  • Practice in real-life situations with local activities and people
  • A final tasting of typical products

Each experience is adapted to the group’s language level, interests and walking pace.

How the experience is designed

Routes in Liguria – modular and customisable

Exploring Italian, step by step

The experience begins with a short introduction to Italian in a meaningful local setting: a square, a café, a viewpoint, a path.

During the walk or light hike, the language is practised through real situations and small, everyday tasks: ordering a coffee, greeting people along the way, observing and naming what surrounds us.

A simple, concrete approach to getting closer to Italian – one step at a time.

Possible combinations (not fixed packages)

Sample Routes for Liguria in Italiano

We meet in a meaningful place within the area (a square, the seafront, a café, a scenic viewpoint).
Before starting the walk, we introduce a few useful Italian words and expressions connected to the context we are about to experience.

During the walk, walking alternates with short stops to:

  • practise Italian in a natural way
  • observe and name what surrounds us
  • carry out small real-life tasks (ordering a coffee, asking for information, having a simple conversation)

Language grows out of experience: listening, trying, making mistakes, and trying again.
The aim is not “studying”, but taking the first steps into approaching the Italian language and the people who speak it, while enjoying the character of the places we pass through.

The pace is always adapted to the group, the language level, and the route.

Lavagna – Hiking: Slate Trails and Valle dei Berissi

Rapallo – Urban walk: landscape and settlement

A walk through Rapallo’s historic centre, where the town’s layout reflects the close relationship between the sea, the hills, and human activity. Colourful buildings, narrow streets, and local materials tell the story of a place shaped by journeys, departures, and arrivals of countless people: pilgrims, travellers, merchants, intellectuals, and migrants from nearby villages. Shops, markets, and the seafront become informal settings for simple, natural Italian language practice.
